Russians Take a Cautious Mind about Governmental E-Services
Submitted by Inna Kremen on 13 July, 2011 - 18:49The Public Opinion Foundation has published results of its survey when Russian citizens evaluated development level of governmental e-services. Compared with last year, there is no obvious progress. Only 11% of Russians use governmental e-services offered, and the number of people knowing anything about them also remained the same, says Cnews.
The sociological survey covered 1,500 responders from 100 Russian settlements.
It is hardly surprising that the majority of most informed people lives in Moscow or in other cities with population exceeding 1 million. In cities and towns with population from 250,000 to 1,000,000, most people appeared to prefer other, not electronic, ways to contact governmental officials. More and more people learn about online governmental services, but the number of real users does not increase: today, from 11 to 12 million people use governmental e-services in Russia.
Low popularity of e-novels results from a number of reasons, including: lack of computer and Internet skills, lack of equipment, of lack of obvious need in governmental e-services.
Officials are skeptical about the survey results, stating that popularity of governmental e-services grows exponentially and also that there is a lot of prospective projects in the field of e-government development, including governmental e-services.
