On July 1, 2010, a federal law amending the Criminal Procedure Code is approved.

The new amendments introduse necessity of a court order for investigation bodies not only for eavesdropping and recording phone calls but also for getting information on communication between telephone subscribers, including numbers of incoming and outgoing calls, and time and duration of conversations.

The amendments are aimed to enable sound protection of phone communication secrecy and to close a gap in the legislation.
